Folktale Sketches

I've been really interested in American history and folktales lately.  As a kid I loved Davey Crockett, Tom Sawyer and all that stuff.  It's been fun to play around with some of these ideas, I may develop some of them further for my portfolio!

This is a painting i did a few years ago and never quite finished.  It was a self assigned illustration for a short story I had read about a teenage boy who runs away from home and lives on the streets of Chicago for a year.
