My Lady
This is my beautiful wife Heather. She was kind enough to let me draw her while she was working on the computer. She is an amazing person and the most incredible wife and mother! She actually has a blog too, where she post all kinds of cool and crafty stuff that she does. You can check it out here.
On another note, I'm going to take a break from Illustration Friday this week to play around with some paints and work on some personal projects, but I'll have more up soon!

Illustration Friday- "Intention"
Another Illustration Friday post. This one is inspired by my son Jack. He is so full of curiosity and determination and I love the way he climbs up on things!

Illustration Friday- "Capable"
"Tom Hamilton labored like a giant, not only with his strong arms and rough hands but also with his heart and spirit. The anvil rang in the forge again. He painted the old house white and whitewashed the sheds. He went to King City and studied a flush toilet and then built one of craftily bent tin and carved wood. Because the water came so slowly from the spring, he put a redwood tank beside the house and pumped the water up to it with a handmade windmill so cleverly made that it turned in the slightest wind." East of Eden, John Steinbeck

Illustration Friday- "Fluid"
Well it's been a little while since my last post. My dad let me borrow his tablet so I've been playing around in photoshop. This is my first digital painting ever! Anyway, Illustration Friday's topic for the week was "Fluid" so I just had to do something with surfing. Hope you guys like it!

Illustration Friday- "Suspense"
Illustration Friday is a blog that I've been following for a long time. Every Friday they post a topic and people submit illustrations based on that topic. This week the topic was "Suspense". All the submissions get reviewed and they post a winner for the week. Every time I look at the blog I think, "I should do that sometime". Well no time like the present. This is my first go.

Jack!
This is a sketch I did of my amazing son Jack this morning. Anyone who knows him, knows that he doesn't sit still for very long. He's a year and a half now and he's all over the place! So in order for me to sketch him, I had to bribe him with one of his favorite shows. Not only did he sit still, but he hardly blinked the entire time. So if you're wondering about the zombie-like expression in this sketch, now you know why.

Getting Some Oils Out
This is a little oil sketch that I did of the Hollywood Hills above Forest Lawn. A few years ago my dad gave me a pochade box that he made out of an old chisel box. It holds the paint, medium, brushes, and two 8X10 panels. It can even carry the two panels with fresh wet paint and not have them touch. It's a paint box, pallet, and easel all in one and it's only about a little over one inch thick. Most of the ones you can buy are super expensive and are at least twice that thickness. Anyway, it's really cool and great for carting around and doing quick sketches. I hadn't done any in quite some time and it was really fun.

Panther Drawings
I've been working on a panther character for McKinley Elementary in Burbank. My mom works there and asked me if I could draw a panther that she could use on a weekly memo she sends out to the parents. This is one of the poses I worked out and some different expressions. I'm still working out the kinks, but hopefully I'll have more up soon.
